Teenage batting sensation Shafali Verma has been named in India's collective Test and ODI squad along with retaining her spot in the T20I squad for the upcoming all-format tour of England.

The 17-year-old shot to prominence with her blazing knocks in the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup and was recently in fine touch in the home T20I series against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Shikha Pandey and Tanya Bhatia have returned to the national side after being left out of the clashes against the Proteas. Elsewhere, Sneh Rana has earned a surprise call-up, having last represented India five years ago.

Uncapped wicketkeeper Indrani Roy is the other option besides Bhatia to don the gloves for India whereas coronavirus-infected Rajeshwari Gayakwad has been deemed unfit to tour England.

The 18-member contingent for the one-off Test and three ODIs will be led by Mithali Raj, whose deputy Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team in the shortest format.

India's Test match scheduled to commence on June 16 in Bristol is their first red-ball outing in international cricket since 2014. The England assignment will be Ramesh Powar's first series following his reappointment as the India Women head coach.

His previous stint in the role was marred by an acrimonious fallout with Mithali after deciding to omit her from the T20 World Cup semi-final against England. He will now partner with Mithali once again for the Test and ODIs.
