Shaheen Afridi is currently serving as the spearhead of Pakistan’s pace attack and the youngster has made huge strides at the international level in the past couple of years.

However, the Lahore Qalandars Head Coach Aaqib Javed recently revealed that Shaheen had a major eyesight weakness at the start of his professional career.

Javed revealed how he got to know about this problem with the pacer when he saw him reacting late to high catches during fielding drills at the ICC Cricket Academy. Shaheen also talked about this matter and said that he manages to play however; he does have a little weak eyesight.

"I have a vision problem but still manage to play,” Shaheen said.

On the other hand, Aaqib feels astonished at the way Shaheen has been managing to play besides having one eye was off by 5.6 points and the other by 2.5 points.

"We were astonished that how he was managing to play," the coach recalled.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was first picked by the Lahore Qalandars franchise for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2018. Afridi’s performances in the first few matches were awful and Aaqib revealed that the fast bowler wanted to return his paycheck to the management of Lahore.
