Balochistan suffered a very crucial defeat at the hands of Sindh in the recently concluded National T20 Cup encounter.

Opening batsman Imam Ul Haq once again scored a brilliant 92 but the strike rate of the left hander wasn't immaculate. Talking about this match on his YouTube channel, former captain of Pakistan Ramiz Raja stated that it was an old strategy to keep wickets in hand in T20 cricket.

"Imam ul Haq made an unbeaten 92 but still his team lost. Nowadays, a big partnership at the top of the order does not guarantee victory. If you make 170 for the loss of three wickets, than you are wasting the option of the other seven batsmen. If you make 92 and your team still loses than that means your pace was slow," Raja said.

He also criticized the poor fielding and bowling display by Balochistan but also advised the opener to improve his strike rate further.

“Balochistan did ball and field badly as well which resulted in the wasting of Imam’s innings but the opener and his type of batsmen should also think if they had just scored 10 to 15 more runs, it could have won them the match. Keeping wickets in hand is now an old strategy,” he added.

According to Ramiz, batters dominated the first half of the tournament in Multan but Rawalpindi is providing some assistance to the bowlers as well.
