The domestic giant and the former wicket-keeper batsman of Pakistan Kamran Akmal has raised concerns over the form and consistency of the opening batsman Fakhar Zaman.

Akmal wants the national selectors to take a close look at the recent performances of the left-handed opener and he also wants Fakhar to come back to domestic cricket and regain his lost mojo.

“The selectors also need to watch out for cases like that of Fakhar Zaman who has been given plenty of chances but has not been able to score that well. It’s in his interest that he goes away and does well in domestic cricket or else his long-term chances will be badly damaged by his continuing run of low scores.” Akmal said.

Fakhar played all three T20Is against England recently and he could only bat in two of the matches. The aggressive left-hander scored a decent 36 in the first T20I whereas he flopped in the 2nd managing to score just 1.

Kamran Akmal himself has been scoring a lot of runs in domestic cricket across formats and is still looking for another chance to represent Pakistan once again.
