The enthralling first Test match between Pakistan and England was taken home at the end by the hosts after a marathon partnership between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes.

There were some good individual performances as well from both sides and all the performing players have improved their ICC rankings that updated on Sunday.

Opening batsman Shan Masood has jumped to a career-best 19th position after his brilliant knock of 156 in the first innings. Masood was previously at 32nd position and he has covered this space in just one innings.

Chris Woakes enjoyed a match-winning partnership of 139 runs with Jos Buttler and scored 84* in the second innings to secure a perfect victory for England. He has moved up to 78th position in the batsmen rankings. He also enjoyed promotion in the all-rounders rankings as he moved up to 7th position in the all-rounders list.

Jos Buttler scored 38 and 75 in the match and he also enjoyed promotion in the rankings moving from 44th to 30th place. Middle-order batsman Ollie Pope has also achieved his career-best ranking of 36 after scoring a half-century in the first innings.

Two leg spinners of Pakistan Shadab Khan and Yasir Shah also bowled well in the match and they have been promoted as well in the bowlers rankings. Shah has moved to 22nd place after taking eight wickets in the match whereas Shadab has reached his career-best 69th position.

English pacers Stuart Broad took six wickets in the match and he has secured his 3rd place in the rankings whereas Jofra Archer has moved to 37th place after taking four wickets in the match.
