On this day, four years ago, West Indies beat England by four wickets in a last-over thriller in order to win their second ICC T20 World Cup trophy. It was a devastating experience for the English fans as they managed to stay ahead throughout most part of the final match.

Stokes has had plenty to celebrate in the past year, but the England all-rounder endured a horror show at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Windies all-rounder Brathwaite was the star of the show, blasting Stokes for four sixes off the first four balls of the final over to ensure his side became the first to win two World T20 titles.

Commentator and former West Indies bowler Ian Bishop belted out "remember the name" when Brathwaite sealed a stunning victory, having needed 19 off the final over.

While Stokes has gone on to better things, he will certainly not have forgotten the name of Brathwaite.

Brathwaite played a World-Cup winning cameo of 34 runs off just 10 balls. England were put into bat first by Darren Sammy and they scored a decent total of 156 in their 20 overs. Despite losing Jason Roy and Alex Hales early, Joe Root’s (54) half-century and Jos Buttler’s handy contribution of 36 took England to a fighting score. David Willey’s 21 off 14 also played a crucial role for England at the end of their innings.

In reply, only Marlon Samuels managed to hang around whilst all other Windies batters were falling like a house of cards. Samuels’ marathon effort of 85* off 66 balls somehow took West Indies to the last over and after that, it was all about some brutal hitting by Carlos.

Darren Bravo’s effort of 25 is also worth mentioning as he helped Samuels play his aggressive game and formed a significant partnership in the lower order. Samuels was awarded man of the match for his swashbuckling knock. Marlon had also taken West Indies to their first World T20 Trophy in 2012 against Sri Lanka in the final when he scored 78 off 56 balls.

However, the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 will be forever remembered for Brathwaite’s onslaught against one of the best all-rounders of the generation.
