The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to increase the number of host cities in the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). So far, the PSL matches have been played across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan in its five-year history.

However, the PCB is likely to add the Arbab Niaz Stadium of Peshawar in the list of PSL 2021 venues. The Quetta Gladiators and the Peshawar Zalmi are the only two franchises in the PSL that doesn’t have a home venue and they played without one in the recently held competition.

According to the reports generating in the media lately, the Board is keen on providing the Zalmis with their home venue. They’re likely to get the Arbab Niaz Stadium of Peshawar as their home ground provided the construction and renovation work at the Stadium gets completed in time before the start of next season.

The Quetta Gladiators also have the Bugti Stadium in Quetta but, the sources believe that it would be impossible to host PSL matches in that ground, at least in the next season. While the Bugti Stadium doesn’t have floodlights and a proper roof over the stands, it’s going to take a lot of effort to host the PSL matches in Quetta.

The Peshawar Zalmi franchise is perhaps one of the most cherished teams in the competition and it would be a fantastic sight for the fans of Zalmi to witness their favorite players in action in front of their eyes.
