Ahsan Ali of Quetta Gladiators have been roped in for his maiden call up to the national team for the three match T20I series against the Bengali Tigers.

Ahsan Ali impressed in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League, scoring 178 runs in eight matches while opening the innings for Quetta Gladiators. The right-hander scored 131 runs at a strike rate of just under 150 in the National T20 Cup 2019 which brought him under consideration and here he is finally being called up to represent his country at International level.

Talking to test cricketer Shan Masood, Ahsan spoke about the change in his fitness plan after being called up to the national team for the first time. He told Shan, how he has given up on favorite dish of biryani, and other forms of rice along with the roti.

“There has been a significant change in the past 31 days since I have been at the NCA. I used to eat Biryani a lot, but I have given up on it. I have also stopped eating rice, roti, and sweet dishes as we have to take light diets,” he said.

He recalled the exact moment when he was informed of his selection in the team saying it was a proud moment for him and his family.

“No matter how much I emphasis on it, I won’t be able to put my happiness in words. Every player wants to play for Pakistan. I am blessed that I have gotten the opportunity to play alongside those players whom I once used to desire to meet,” he added.
