The Pakistan Cricket Board has turned down Azam Khan's request for a no-objection certificate (NOC) for participation in the upcoming edition of Caribbean Premier League, it was reported by Cricket Pakistan.

The hard-hitting batter had requested a NOC, which was turned by the board. According to details, there is a clash in dates of National T20 Cup and Caribbean Premier League.

Pakistan's premeir domestic T20 tournament is due start from August 30 while CPL is scheduled to begin from September 1.

"The dates are conflicting while the board wants cricketers aspiring to make a place in the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the national event," said a PCB official as stated in the report by Cricket Pakistan.

CPL franchise Barbados Royals had retained Azam Khan to play in this year's edition. According to the report, young Qasim Akram has also been denied the NOC to play in CPL. He had been signed up by St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
