Warwickshire CCC have signed India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj for their final three matches of the ongoing County Championship, it was announced in a statement.

The right-arm quick will arrive at the club ahead of their contest against Somerset CCC on September 12. He is currently participating in India's three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

Siraj becomes the sixth Indian player to be signed up for this year's English domestic competition. He has quickly established as one of the key members of India's fast bowling contingent in Test cricket after making his debut on the tour of Australia in 2020-2021 series.

In 13 Tests for his country so far, he has picked a total of 40 wickets at an average of 30.77. The young seamer will be looking to get his rhythm back after he had a slightly difficult outing in India's last two Test series.

"I can't wait to join up with the Bears squad. I have always enjoyed playing in England with India and I'm excited to experience County Cricket," he said in a statement released by the club.

"Edgbaston is [a] world-class stadium and the atmosphere it created this year for the Test was special. I'm really looking forward to making it my home in September and hopefully helping the Bears end the season well.

"I would like to extend my gratitude to both Warwickshire County Cricket Club and BCCI for this opportunity."

"Siraj is a fantastic addition to the squad and we can't wait to welcome him to Warwickshire," said Paul Farbrace, Warwickshire's director of cricket. "He is one of the best fast bowlers in the world right now and his knowledge and experience will help bring an added dimension to our line-up."

"It's been clear that we needed to strengthen our bowling attack for the crucial run-in period and I'm excited to see what Siraj can do in these three games."
