The premier Test batsman of Pakistan Asad Shafiq interacted with media through a video conference on Wednesday morning and talked about his career and future series. Shafiq also stated that he has set up a small gym in his home to keep himself fit and ready for future endeavors.

"I have brought a couple of weights and I am trying to make a small gym for myself at home in order to keep myself fit during this lockdown break caused by the coronavirus pandemic," he said.

When asked about his achievements so far as a Test batsman, Asad accepted the fact that he hasn't achieved desired results as far as his individual performance is concerned.

"When I made my debut in 2010, there were certain goals that I wanted to achieve but, unfortunately, I haven't been able to accomplish them. After playing for almost ten years, I will consider myself an underachiever," Shafiq added.

The talented right-hander from Karachi also stated that he dreamt of playing Test matches at home and the recent home series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were like a dream come true for him.

"As a professional player, you always want to play on your home grounds and I experienced that feeling of the home crowd last year when Sri Lanka and Bangladesh toured Pakistan," Shafiq said.

The 34-year old has featured in 74 Test matches for Pakistan so far and he has scored 4593 runs at an average of 39. He also has the record of most hundreds scored by a no.6 batsman in Test matches.
