New Zealand decided to postpone the Pakistan tour just before the start of the first One Day International (ODI) without playing over security concerns.

Ramiz Raja, in a video released by PCB on Twitter, said to the fans, “My pain and your pain is shared. Whatever happened is not good for Pakistan cricket and an unfortunate scenario.”

“However, we have encountered these situations before and have always moved forward. We have enough resilience and energy because of our fans and cricket team. We challenge the world with our fight to survive and will challenge again if international cricket in Pakistan comes under pressure. But if we can’t, we have enough confidence and energy to make the world-class team at our domestic level,” he added.

Ramiz asked fans to support Pakistan cricket and the Pakistan cricket team in the forthcoming ICC T20I World Cup. He advised the team to focus on their performances.

“You must let out your frustration and anger through your on-field performances. There will be a line of series in Pakistan if you become the best team in the world. Everyone wants to play the world-best team,” he maintained. “We must not be disappointed and we’ll do everything that is in our hands.”

“Now, Pakistan cricket team needs to become world best to come out of such challenges easily and to move forward. I hope we’ll remain united and take Pakistan cricket forward.”

Earlier, the PCB Chairman, in a tweet, criticised the New Zealand Cricket Board for cancelling the tour by taking a unilateral approach over security concerns. New Zealand was scheduled to play the ODI and T20I series in Pakistan after 18 years.
