Islamabad United will lock horns with Karachi Kings in Abu Dhabi on Monday night.
The Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United have had a decent start to the Abu Dhabi leg with mixed results. Following their inspirited victory over Lahore Qalandars yesterday, United have clambered atop the PSL 2021 Points Table with 5 wins from 7 matches. Despite the unavailability of two of their gun players, Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali, United made easy work of the Qalandars on the back of an Asif Ali special which reinvigorated them after a horror start. They will be keen to overhaul the Kings tonight and ensure their qualification.
Karachi Kings, contrarily, have featured in just one match since the resumption of PSL 2021 and are currently placed at 4th with 6 points. Babar Azam top-scored for the Kings in their opening game of the 2nd leg against Multan Sultans. However, they need a bit more vigour from the likes of Sharjeel Khan and Martin Guptill at the top of the order. On the bowling front, seasoned campaigners like Mohammad Amir need to up the ante and support in-form bowler, Arshad Iqbal. Kings will also rely on the skipper Imad Wasim’s T20 bowling competence to stymie the flow of runs for Islamabad.
