Multan Sultans will face off with Peshawar Zalmi in second of the two PSL 2021 matches on Sunday in Abu Dhabi.

Multan Sultans overhauled the defending champions, Karachi Kings, to kickstart their Abu Dhabi leg of PSL 2021. They are still trailing behind at number five and need to consistently play better if they are to secure a top-four finish. Their batting unit boasts a lot of strength and versatility with the likes of Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw occupying key positions. On the bowling front, Multan Sultans have the likes of Imran Tahir and Shahnawaz Dhani, both of whom have proven to be partnership-breakers for the team. It’s a very balanced looking side for the Sultans and they will be eager to overpower Peshawar Zalmi to further their qualification case.

Peshawar Zalmi has featured in the most number of matches on the PSL 2021 points table, thus far, and are currently positioned at number three. Despite having Lahore Qalandars under the pump, they let the game slip from underneath their palms. David Miller’s promotion to the top order has bore fruit for the Men in Yellow whereas the run of forms that Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik are also glimmers of hope that Peshawar Zalmi can go all the way this time around. As of now, they will be desperate to clamber atop on the points table and secure their qualification.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

As we have seen in the previous games here, the surface at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi is known to be conducive to slower bowling with the ball skidding. Dew plays a big factor and chasing anything in the vicinity of 150 is generally tougher than usual. However, teams have breached the 170-run mark several times over the past week or so which suggests that it has not been as difficult as initially presumed.
